In the world of crossover’s Volkswagen hasn’t exactly played a major roll. With key players such as the Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, Jeep Renegade and Tange Rover Evoque, it’s easy to see the market is pretty saturated. Recently, Volkswagen released a concept similar, but in convertible form dubbed the “T-Cross Breeze.” Although it’s a concept, VW has announced that they could “imagine putting such a convertible on the market as a production model.” Adding in a bit of competition to the already diverse market, now with a VW edge.
Featuring a small but powerful 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine pushing 110 horsepower and 129 lb-ft of torque. The magic doesn’t just happen in the engine but in the estimated 497 miles it can travel on just one tank of gasoline. Don’t expect to get anywhere too quickly with a 10.3 second 0-60 mph time.
Inside the T-Cross, the interior comes with a digital instrument cluster equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, MirrorLink connectivity and a 300-watt BeatsAudio sound system.
If the T-Cross Breeze does turn into a real crossover, the chances that it enters the market roofed, is much more likely. With VW planning to grow its CUV lineup with five unique models, made up of the T-Roc concept, the new Tiguan, and a three-row mid-size model, and the Touareg. Keep checking back for any new news regarding the T-Cross Concept.
